More and more, I find myself pausing. Not because there’s nothing to say. But because I’m beginning to wonder about timing. Whether something said too early—even if true—can miss the moment it was meant for. Whether space might sometimes offer something that words cannot. I’m noticing how strong the impulse can be—to
step in, to offer, to help shape the path a little. And I’m also noticing what happens when I
don’t. When there is just a bit more room…
a bit more time…
a bit more quiet. It doesn’t always feel comfortable. But there’s something in that space that seems
to allow its own kind of movement. I’m beginning to sense that not everything needs to be said in the moment it is seen.
That sometimes, what we hold back is not withheld—but simply waiting. Waiting for the right time.
Or perhaps, for something to emerge on its own. And in those moments, what’s offered may not be advice at all… Just patience. Just presence.
Just a kind of quiet support that doesn’t need to shape the outcome. I don’t always get this right. But I’m starting to wonder if allowing timing and space to lead… may, at times, be its own way of caring.
